Eisenhower’s very own Claire Mowry has been awarded the most prestigious cheer achievement by the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA). The All American Cheerleader award recognizes skill, teamwork, leadership and commitment.
In addition, Mowry received an individual Outstanding Leadership, an invitation to be on the NCA camp staff for 2026 and the opportunity to be on the All-American Cheer Team.

These awards are only given out at NCA summer camps, and during the three-day camp candidates are chosen from a multitude of schools. Out of EHS’s seven nominees, only five were chosen to try out for the All-American. Mowry was the only one to receive All-American status.
“Thirteen years of cheer made it all worth it by showing I learned something more useful than how to do a flip,” Mowry said. “This confirms my talents because it shows that all the hard work I put in through elementary school till now pays off.”
Like any other sport, cheer includes skills built over years of practice. These awards have reaffirmed the confidence that Mowry has in her cheer abilities.
“It’s awesome to have somebody at the top of their skill level representing Eisenhower cheer,” said Assistant Coach Michelle Cottingham.
As a senior, this offers Mowry several paths to follow after high school, academically and athletically.
“It holds a lot in store for college opportunities,” Mowry said. “It’s a good thing to put on cheer resumes and college resumes.”
Mowry’s skills are what made her stand out and receive these awards. Not only does she cheer for the school, but she also cheers competitively.
“Claire is a really hard worker. She has that determination to work towards something and really achieve it,” said Head EHS Cheer Coach Olivia Dreiling.
Mowry plans on cheering and furthering her education at either Kansas State University or Texas A&M University after graduation.
